Dear vendor, let’s break up

What it’s like when you hire MomoCentral to take over a project? You’ll love us, for sure. But first, let’s get through some questions…

From missed deliverable dates to subpar coding skills, you’ve had enough of nightmares working with your tech vendor.

You’re certain that things aren’t working out anymore and a well-meaning associate recommends hiring human-verified freelance talents from MomoCentral.

A-list developers and designers; no middleman; affordable rates; and 100% source ownership, you’d jump on the idea, of course! Plus, deadlines are looming and you’d give anything to get the project back on track with its estimated schedule, right?

If only it were that straightforward.

Switching tech vendors midway of an ongoing project can seem downright disruptive and suffice to say that you should do your due diligence to ensure a thorough handover.

Below are 6 essential questions that will help MomoCentral help you with a more efficient and stress-free transition:

1. Do you have full access to the source code?

2. Is the project hosted on your servers?

3. If yes, do you have the FTP / SSH access to your servers?

4. Do you have full access to your database? If yes, do you have a copy of the database?

5. If it’s a mobile app, is the mobile app under your app store accounts?

6. If yes, do you have your app store developer account credentials?

Once the above information has been received, MomoCentral will work to thoroughly examine the source authenticity, coding standards and documentations before assigning to a new developer.

Unfortunately, clients often end up in a sticky situation of having to pay their tech vendors “hidden source code fees” of their apps when proper agreements for source ownership weren’t signed prior to commencement of work.

What’s more, some source codes were so horridly written (i.e. tutorial and fake codes were found!) that we’ve had clients who forfeited their initial investments — as much as $20,000 to $30,000 — to rebuild everything from scratch. Bottom line: source code ownership is critical.

With that, welcome to MomoCentral.

Like we’ve said, you’ll love us. For sure.
